STATEMENT: SBEC is dedicated to
equipping the next generation by assisting the home and church in pursuit of a Christ-centered
world and life view, achieved through the highest quality Biblically-based
academic and co-academic instruction.

STATEMENT: SBEC will be a leader in
distinctive Christian education by providing an excellent educational
environment that honors Christ, nurtures people, and instills within our
students a Biblical worldview, a love for learning, and a heart to know God and

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS FOR CLASS OF 2008
ACADEMIC DIPLOMA
A minimum of twenty-four
(24) units of credit is required for graduation with an Academic Diploma for
the class of 2008. These shall include
the following:

HONOR GRADUATES
(SBEC Honor Graduates must meet both curriculum and grade
point average requirements.)
CURRICULUM REQUIREMENTS: Students must meet all of the requirements as
listed above for an Academic Diploma. However, the MATHEMATICS units must be
Algebra I and above, and the SCIENCE units must be Biology and above. Two units of a single foreign
language are also required. A student
must have taken a minimum of four Honors courses in grades 9 – 12
to be an Honor Graduate.
GRADE POINT AVERAGE
REQUIREMENTS: Students must maintain a seven-semester
grade point average of 3.500 or above to be an Honor Graduate. The honors are as follows: 3.500 to 3.799, Magna Cum Laude, and 3.800
and above, Summa Cum Laude.
RANKING OF SENIOR CLASS
Senior class rank is based on the
grade point average of seven-semesters, grades nine through the first semester
of grade twelve. Only the top
quartile (top 25%) of the senior class is ranked.

of seven-semester grade point averages is as follows:

SBEC’s academic year is divided
into two semesters, each with two nine-week grading periods. All course grades are recorded numerically.
HONORS COURSES OFFERED
Honors courses are regularly
offered to qualified students in English, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and II,
Geometry, Advanced Mathematics/Trigonometry, Calculus, American History,
American Government, Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, and Physics.
