Technology is an important part of our global society, and SBEC strives to integrate technological innovation into classroom instruction through various means. In the past five years we have been able to construct a program of 65 networked computers that are housed in the library media center, the elementary computer lab, and the word processing lab. Approximately 125 computers are available for use by students, teachers, and support staff located in various areas of the facility to accommodate individual student and faculty needs ranging from Internet searches to multi-media presentations. Students are instructed in the basics of word processing, Power Point presentations, Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, and educational searches of the Internet for research purposes. Computer instruction begins in first grade and continues through elementary school. High school students choose computer classes as electives. Other technological equipment available for use by our students and teachers are:
We are no longer confined by the traditional boundaries limiting access and delivery of information.
