Friday’s season home opener against the Pillow Academy Mustangs was a short game. Both teams were challenged from the beginning by strong winds related to Hurricane Isaac. Play was suspended by the officials at halftime after they spotted lightning. After delaying the start of the second half for close to an hour, officials and the administrators from SBEC and Pillow Academy mutually decided to call the game. Pillow Academy led at the half, 14-0. The game will not be rescheduled.
