After serving as assistant coach last year, SBEC announces that Coach Zach Miller has been named head baseball coach. Coach Miller brings a wealth of playing experience and knowledge of the game to his new position. As an All-SEC performer at Ole Miss, he was part of two SEC championship teams. Coach Miller is also a product of a perennial state championship program at Houston High School, and received two Coastal-Plains championship rings through summer baseball while playing at Ole Miss. Coach Miller has had the privilege to learn under the leadership of quality head coaches both as a player and an assistant coach.
As important as these experiences are, Coach Miller’s greatest qualities are his Christian character and work ethic. Coach Miller has proven to be a man of conviction. His desire is to honor Christ through the platform of athletics and to instill within the young men a heart to honor the Lord through their talents. In addition, he understands the benefit of hard work. He is quick to tell you that it was his father that instilled within him the willingness to work hard in order to accomplish his goals. Coach Miller looks forward to having the opportunity to instill the same Christian character and championship work ethic within his players as he develops an outstanding baseball program at SBEC.
Coach MillerWe look forward to Coach Miller leading our SBEC baseball program. Please make him feel welcome in his new role and pray for him as he takes on this important assignment.
